On behalf of the coordination team of the Metals Working Group and the organizing committee of the conference, we would like to welcome you to Metal 2019, the 9th interim meeting of the ICOM-CC Metals Working Group.

This is the very first time that a Metals Working Group interim meeting will be hosted by a preeminent conservation training program, a very significant achievement for our community.

The Metals Working Group is one of the largest working groups of ICOM-CC. It is also one of the most active conservation communities of professionals engaged in the preservation of metallic archaeological, ethnographic, artistic and historical objects. Members of the Metals Working Group are from all regions of the world and include conservators, conservation scientists as well as corrosion scientists and archeometallurgists, among many other professions.

Metal 2019 will feature an exceptional program of speakers from the world’s leading heritage stakeholders. The program will showcase recent studies that are inclusive of both conservation practices and science research.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Metal 2019!
